I’m Donna Starling, born and raised right here in Coastal, North Carolina. My roots keep me grounded, and my life experiences shape how I work. Before starting Starling House Construction, I worked as a nurse—a role that taught me to understand people, their lifestyles, and their evolving needs.
From new parents needing safe, functional spaces to empty nesters looking to repurpose rooms, I design with function and flow in mind. As a wife and mother, I’ve raised three children, managed a household, and experienced the many phases of home life. That perspective helps me see every home not just for how it looks, but for how it works for the people living in it.
